Message From The Chief

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Richard “Dicky” Olko. Dicky had a genuine heart and would drop what he was doing to help his neighbors. The Shaker Pines Fire family send our condolences to his wife Becky.
ENFIELD - Richard “Dicky” Olko, 69, passed away Feb. 20, 2021. He leaves his loving wife of thirty-three years, Becky Joy Olko, brothers, Raymond Olko, Peter Olko Jr. and wife Charlene, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Enfield, CT, growing up he worked in the family-owned restaurant “Shaker Park”. At sixteen he joined the Shaker Pines Fire Department as a junior volunteer and was a first responder until 2004. Dicky worked with his dad and uncle in the carpenter’s union, then became an Operating Engineer in Local 478 for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2014. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
